Welcome to the Barony of the Angels

The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA) is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events that feature tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, various classes and workshops, and more.

The Barony of the Angels, the oldest Barony in the Kingdom of Caid, covers a major portion of Southern California. Please click here for details about the specific areas that lie within the Barony's borders.

Angels 41st Anniversary Acknowledgments    Upcoming Events on the    Baronial Calendar 01/29: Baronial Archery Practice Official Baronial Archery practice. Practice will be at target #15. 01/29: Picnic in the Park Weekly Baronial fighting practice + social gathering 01/29: A&S Cooking class This weekend's cooking class and the kickoff for the Angels Team for Lyondemere's Cast Iron Chef competition is being held at Picnic in the Park, at 1:30. THL Rosamund Ryghtwys will be teaching us how to cook a totally documentable (and documented) chicken stew, using period techniques and (as much as possible) tools. We'll be cooking in cast iron over charcoal on a modern BBQ grill (the grill being one of our anachronisms, but it's the type the park allows). We'll be using documentable ingredients, including herbs fresh from the garden. The meal will be typical of what the rising middle class (and/or minor nobility) would have in the home. We'll also be learning how to cut meat.
